Liberty Page

image1Liberty Page is a chemist and computer scientist whose passion is helping kids achieve their dreams through STEM education. She began her association with the Hyland House in 2000 when she was asked by Leetes Island Garden Club member Mary Barnes to help with an herb talk at Early Guilford Days. In the years since, she has brought the 21st and 18th centuries a little closer together. She developed a natural wool-dying program with student volunteers from Guilford High School’s AP Chemistry class. The students created dyes using only fruits, vegetables, spices, salt and vinegar. The program is now a regular part of the House’s education program. Liberty teaches computer science at the University of New Haven and she and her husband, Rick Page, are both mentors for Apple Pi Robotics Team 2067.
